128 - Wie genau funktionieren kombinierte Upload- und Download-Links?
When using Adblockers in the web browser, the Share button may not be visible. It is recommended to disable the adblocker for LRZ Sync+Share (see also FAQ 315).
Links are not only usable to make files and entire folders available for download, but it is also possible to use links to upload files and folders by setting a permission. Please note that folders or files uploaded by other people can be downloaded again via the download option! If you do not want this, please use the upload form.
To create a link with upload option (upload link), proceed as follows:
- Log in via the web browser on https://syncandshare.lrz.de.
- Click on the Share icon on the far right of a folder .
- Click on Create Link at the bottom left.
- Click on Can read, write and upload.
Optionally, you can set an expiration date, a maximum number of downloads and/or a password in the drop-down menu under "Settings".
- We recommend setting a password to protect the link from unauthorized access.
Now you can copy the created link and distribute it e.g. by e-mail.
The uploaded files or folders are written to the folder shared by link. If files with the same name are uploaded more than once, this file will be overwritten. If content is to be uploaded by several people, we recommend the use of upload forms. If you want to ensure that the download link is only used once, you should set the option "Max Downloads" to "1". Alternatively you can also configure an expiration date for the link. Additionally, a WEB link can be protected with a password. Please remember to transfer the password securely to the recipient.
In your web browser you can get an overview of your created links via "Links" in the left menu and you can remove them if necessary.
Please follow the LRZ Sync+Share security recommendations!
Please note that folders or files uploaded by other people can be downloaded again via the download option! If you do not want this, please use the upload form.
