Wie kann ich eine Kennung löschen?

To delete an account, please use the menu item "Account | view/modify" and proceed as follows:

  • Search for the account to be deleted.
  • Then select the step "Status/Note" in the upper navigation bar.
  • Change the "Status" of the identifier to "gelöscht" (deleted).
  • Press the "Save and exit" button.
  • You will be prompted to confirm the deletion of the account by pressing "Save and exit" again.

Please note that deleting an account in the Master User Services is associated with deleting the account on all LRZ platforms. This also deletes the account's home directory and mailbox, for example; as this data may not be recoverable in the event of accidental deletion, you should only delete an account if it is certain that it is no longer needed.

In this context, please also consider the possibility of locking an account or the possibility of withdrawing individual platform permissions from an account without deleting the account and use the menu item "Services" if necessary. Please note that even if a platform permission is withdrawn, the personal data in the account's home directory on this platform will be deleted.

If a user moves to another institution in the Munich science network, he/she can also take his/her account with him/her to another project. In this case, you should not delete the account, but inform your LRZ advisor which account should be moved to which other institution; your LRZ advisor will then do the rest.

Attention: Master users from projects for the LRZ supercomputer (SuperMUC-NG) cannot delete accounts themselves, but must contact the LRZ Service Desk.
