Welche Beeinträchtigungen gibt es während der Kennungsverschmelzung für die Benutzer?
This depends on the respective service:
- The Exchange service is generally not affected and can therefore be used without interruption, as this permission is always on the "winning account".
- All LMU-internal services where you log in with the LMU user ID (usually firstname.lastname) and not with the LRZ account (such as ri42sum) can in principle also be used without impairment. However, it should be noted that the LMU user IDs are usually assigned to a different LRZ account during the changeover - at least in all cases where the other account has the Exchange services and thus becomes the "winning account" - and the password also changes accordingly.
- For all other services, a distinction must be made as to whether they have data areas (such as Standard Mail, CampusLMU Mail, Personal Cloud Storage, Sync+Share and GitLab) or not.
- If they have data areas, these usually have to be moved to another account (the "winning account") and therefore the respective services are not usable during the account merge. For security reasons, existing connections (such as running Sync+Share clients or connections as network drives or CIFS mounts) should also be released before the merger begins, if possible. If the services were moved to the other account in the course of the merger, the login for these services must then be changed accordingly.
- Data-less services (such as VPN/WLAN/eduroam) can continue to be used without interruption as long as they are attached to the "winner account". If they are connected to the "loser account", the login must be changed accordingly.
