Was geschieht, wenn ich den Status einer Kennung auf "gesperrt" setze?
Locking an account (status "gesperrt") means that the user can no longer log in to any service; however, unlike deleting an account (status "gelöscht"), no data and files are removed, so that after unlocking (by changing the status to "aktiv") the account can be used again as before.
The LRZ can also lock accounts for the following reasons:
- The account has been compromised.
- The account has become conspicuous due to a suitably serious breach of the LRZ User Guidelines and the user does not respond to contact.
- If the head of institution (or a contact person appointed by the head of institution) does not respond to the annual project extension email, even after reminders, all accounts in the project are locked to force a response. If there is no response, the accounts will be deleted. See also How does the annual project extension work?
If you do not know whether an existing account is still needed and cannot reach the user, it is advisable to lock the account for a few weeks to be on the safe side before deleting it.
Attention: Master users from projects for the LRZ supercomputer (SuperMUC-NG) cannot lock accounts themselves, but must contact the LRZ Service Desk.
