Können Einzelkennungen von Standard-Mail auf LMU-Exchange umgestellt werden?

If master users have already imported LMU accounts into projects at the LRZ and provided them with standard mail permission, these accounts can also be migrated to LMU Exchange (see, for example, "Example email 3" at Exchange for lmu.de).

However, since in these cases each user must adapt the configuration of the mail client and may need the support of master users or RBGs, the simultaneous conversion of all accounts may not be practicable for larger projects.

Therefore, there is the possibility that the project is activated in the master user services of the IDM portal for the individual changeover - for this, please send an incident to the LRZ service desk.

After activation, you have the following extended view as a master user in the IDM portal under "Account | view/modify":

If you click on "Show Info Mail Preview", you can see what would change for the account in question if you start the lmu.de Exchange migration (left button next to it):

Here you have the option of sending the generated mail text directly - (Warnung) please note that this would be done on behalf of the LMU IT Service Desk. You will then receive the following confirmation.

Or better: copy the text or parts of it and send it to the person concerned as a personal email.

Carrying out the migration

You start the effective migration of the account to LMU-Exchange with the button "Start lmu.de-Exchange-Migration". This is possible independently of the previously described generation and/or sending of the Info Mail.

Normally this migration incl. interaction with the LMU directory service is completed in the background in a few seconds and you will receive a green confirmation message. If it does take longer, a red message of the following type appears:

As recommended in the message, after a few minutes you should look again in the IDM portal at the "[Services]" form for the account. If Exchange is then marked as active and as "managed by the LMU", everything has worked:

Please note that an expiry date of 3 months is set for the previous standard mail permission. At this time, the permission is deleted along with any old mailbox content that may still exist. You can adjust this date at any time if accounts need more time to transfer their old mails to the new Exchange mailbox (see Umzug auf Exchange).
