In addition to the location-based installations, the LRZ also houses two visualization laboratories equipped with modern workstations and head-mounted displays.

In the student lab (E.U.032) 8 powerful workstation computers are available (4x Windows, 4x Ubuntu Linux). These can be used either for general visualization tasks or for software development for the HTC VIVE Pro or Oculus Rift. On request 2 mobile Samsung GearVR systems can also be provided.

In the virtual reality lab (H.U.009) there is a powerful workstation computer for controlling an HTC VIVE. The cable routing over the ceiling allows an enlarged tracking area (approx. 8m x 5.5m) for greater freedom of movement and natural interaction.
