Welche von beiden Kennungen bleibt bei der Kennungsverschmelzung erhalten?

For this purpose, we check in which direction the merging is more favourable, i.e. involves less effort for the user. We have the following criteria for determining the "winner account" and "loser account" (= the account that is resolved):

  1. If an account is used for login at the local workstation PC/laptop/MWN-PC.
→ then this becomes the winning account
  2. If an account has Exchange permission with mail address,
→ then this becomes the winning account (= always an LRZ account).
Reason: With Exchange, an account cannot simply be renamed, but must be newly created. However, this would mean that all authorisations (shared mailboxes, calendar shares, etc.) would be lost for the user and would be very time-consuming to set up again.
  3. Otherwise, if only one account has Personal Cloud Storage,
→ then this becomes the winning account
Reason: No need to recopy (sometimes) large amounts of data.
  4. Otherwise, if one account has Campus LMU Mailbox (student mail),
→ then this becomes the winning account (= always an LMU account).
  5. Otherwise, if only one account has Sync+Share permission,
→ then this becomes the winning account (= almost always an LMU account).
  6. Otherwise, if an account has permission for other LRZ services (such as backup and archiving),
→ then this becomes the winning account (= always an LRZ identifier).
  7. Otherwise, the LMU/LRZ account becomes the winning account.

If criteria 1. and 2. do not result in the same winning account, the local computer operation group usually has to change settings on the day of the merger.

Some service permissions such as VPN/WLAN/eduroam and GitLab can be changed relatively easily during the merger.

Some services (backup and archiving, master user permission) are already changed to the winner account by the LRZ before the merger.

During the merger, the previous winner account is retained and is adopted (along with the password) as the LMU/LRZ account. Permissions and services attached to the previous loser account are transferred to the new account.
