Welche Bedeutung hat das Feld "Kontakt E-Mail-Adresse"?

Two types of e-mail addresses can be recorded in the LRZ User Administration:

  1. E-mail addresses that are assigned to an LRZ account and are thus handled via the LRZ mail servers.
  2. E-mail addresses at which the user can be reached, even if they are not operated by the LRZ. This is the case, for example, if your institution operates its own mail server or the user uses external service providers, e.g. web.de or gmx.de.

The contact e-mail address is the e-mail address that the LRZ should use to contact the user if necessary. If a person has an e-mail address of category (1), this should be used as a contact e-mail address, because it is then ensured that the mail address is also valid.

Otherwise, please enter as the contact email address the one that you think is most likely to reach the user in a timely manner.

Please note:

  1. If a user has an e-mail address of category (1), but as a contact e-mail address has one of category (2), the contact e-mail address will be automatically changed to category (1) on the following morning.
  2. Entering a contact e-mail address does not automatically result in this address being assigned to the user's LRZ account - even if a mail domain operated by the LRZ is used in the process.
  3. As a master user, you only have the option of specifying the e-mail address of a new account when you create it. Only the user himself can change this e-mail address or create further aliases via the Self Services in the IDM portal. The change of the contact e-mail address by you as a master user serves to maintain the user contact information.
