Was ist eine Einrichtung?

An institution of the LRZ user administration is a legal entity, located primarily in the public area of research and teaching.

Institutions are recorded by the LRZ in almost any granularity as required; for example, a university as a whole, a faculty, an individual chair, but also Virtual Organizations (VOs) in the context of Grid projects, for example, are considered an institution. The general prerequisite for inclusion as an institution is that it exists as such outside the LRZ user administration, that it can be integrated into a non-fictitious organizational structure (superordinate and, if applicable, subordinate institutions), and that it can be assigned a user class (see also: What do "user class" and "kind of institution" mean?).

In the context of LRZ user administration, an institution is represented by an institution head, e.g. the chair holder, who concludes project contracts with the LRZ and appoints one or more master users per project to perform technical-administrative tasks. In the Master User Services, you can view the data known to the LRZ under "View institution"; please notify your LRZ advisor of any changes, e.g. to the organizational structure or management, as soon as possible - see also: My telephone number/address/e-mail address or my superior's contact details have changed; where can I enter this?
