Was bedeutet das Feld "Benutzername"?

In the LRZ user administration, a unique user name is assigned to each registered person, regardless of whether this person has/had an account at the LRZ or not. This user name remains unchanged, even if, for example, the person's last name or institution affiliation should change. This results from the technical necessity of having to assign a so-called key to each data record, by means of which it can be uniquely identified in the user administration system.

For all accounts assigned since April 2008 and not imported from other institutions, the following applies: The login name of the first personal account assigned to this person is the same as the user name. If the user is assigned more than one personal account, the number 2 is appended to the login name of the second account, the number 3 to the login name of the third account, and so on.

Example:

  • User name: ne35ped
  • Login name of the first personal account: ne35ped
  • Login name of the second personal account: ne35ped2

For all accounts issued up to March 2008, the user name and the login name of the account do not match. The user name only plays a role here from the time the second personal account is assigned.

In both cases, however, the user name has no influence on functional accounts that are (co-)used by this user.

For special services in the grid area, different functional names are agreed with other institutions, so that the names of personal accounts do not match the user names here either.
