VPN - eduVPN - OpenVPN-Konfiguration erzeugen
What can I do
With a configuration file, exported from eduVPN, you may build a VPN connection. You need:
- an OpenVPN configuration file
- an OpenVPN client
Get configuration file
- Connect to the eduVPN server = controller of your institution

- Click on Configurations → Create → Continue..
- Select the Split-Tunnel profile and choose a Name
- Click on Create and Download
- You need a single profile for every device you want to use with OpenVPN
- You have to obtain a new configuration file when the old configuration is expired.
- Import your configuration file into your OpenVPN client.
- Keep the configuration file in a safe place, it will enable to connect to VPN with your account as long the configuration is valid.
- In case you do not need the connection on you device any longer, delete the configuration on the eduvpn server and on your client.
Install OpenVPN client and configure it
- Install the OpenVPN client via softwarecenter/selfservice on managed systems, otherwise for
- Windows via https://openvpn.net/community-downloads/
- macOS via https://tunnelblick.net
- Linux via packet manager, GUI in NetWorkManager available.
