101 - Was ist der LRZ Cloud Storage?
The LRZ Cloud Storage is a central storage that can be connected via a network drive. The cloud storage can be used by all students, employees and guests of the authorized institutions. The storage is available 24/7 and is secure, i.e. protected from unauthorized access.
Personal storage and project storage
- A personal file repository (Personal Cloud Storage) with large storage space is available to you, to which only you have access.
- In addition, project drives (Institutional Cloud Storage) can be set up for collaboration within a department, faculty or beyond.
- A temporary drive is available for short-term file storage and data exchange. Please note that this drive is accessible to all members of the Munich Scientific Network (MWN)!
Easy recovery of files with snapshots
The central storage regularly creates so-called "snapshots". Snapshots provide an easy way to recover accidentally damaged or deleted files. You can even find and restore older versions without having to ask an administrator.
Accessible via VPN connection and Internet
The central storage is operated by the Leibniz Computing Center (LRZ). The central repository can be accessed from the entire Munich scientific network.
From outside you need a VPN access to the Munich science network or use the web access with the webdisk.
Here you can find the manual for the central online storage.
