Welchen Benutzernamen muss man bei welchen Diensten nutzen?
- The student Otto Meier activates his new account in the online portal of the university or college.
- TUM: He receives the account go42tum.
- LMU: He receives the account Otto.Meier2 and an alias ra53lum.
- HM: He receives the account omeier17.
- The account is valid for nearly all network services of the university.
- University-internal
- Within the TUM our student can log on to servers like Moodle or TUMonline with the username go42tum.
- Within the LMU our student can log on to servers like Moodle or the LMU portal with the username Otto.Meier2.
- Within Munich University of Applied Sciences, our student Otto Meier can log in to servers such as Moodle or Primus with the username omeier17.
- Alias
- TUM: The email address go42tum@tum.de works, but looks pretty dumb. Therefore he configures an alias otto-kevin.meier@tum.de.
- LMU: The username is also part of the email address, so Otto.Meier2@campus.lmu.de.
- HM: The e-mail address omeier17@hm.edu works, but looks pretty dumb. Therefore he configures an alias otto-kevin.meier@hm.edu.
- Cross-university
Some servers are cross-university. For example, email, Cisco VPN, Eduroam, and Sync+Share.- HM: So there can be a user omeier17 also at another Munich university.
- TUM and LMU: In contrast, the randomly generated usernames for TUM and LMU are unique across the Munich academic network.
- Email
If he wants to retrieve his e-mails on the website xmail.mwn.de, he has to enter- at HM: hm-omeier17, so that the server knows that the user is from the Munich University of Applied Sciences.
- at TUM: go42tum
- at LMU: ra32lum on the website webmail.lrz.de
- Cisco VPN and eduroam
- TUM: With VPN and eduroam username is go42tum@tum.de.
- LMU: For VPN and eduroam username is ra52lum@lmu.de.
- HM: With VPN and eduroam username omeier17@hm.edu is written.
Also in this way the assignment is clearly possible. The alias otto-kevin.meier@hm.edu does not work.
