129 - Wie genau funktionieren öffentliche Links?

Note: The 'Public Folder link' function is deprecated (Release: ).

Previously created 'Public Folder' links are still functional. However, no further links can be created. Use the links function instead (→ FAQ 120+128).

When using Adblockers, the Share icon may not be visible. It is recommended to disable the adblocker for LRZ Sync+Share (see also FAQ 315).


Using public WEB links allow other people read-only access to a top-level folder via web browser. In this way it is possible to navigate through the folder and download individual files. When using "normal" WEB links, only the download of a complete folder is possible. The public link exists until the link is deleted by the owner, because no expiration date can be set for the owner. A public link can also not be protected by a password.

Beim Erstellen eines öffentlichen WEB-Links geht man folgendermaßen vor:

  1. Log in via the web browser at https://syncandshare.lrz.de.
  2. Click the Share icon on the far right of a top-level folder.
  3. Click on Make public at the bottom right.
  4. Now you can copy the created public WEB link and distribute it e.g. by e-mail.
  5. Jetzt können Sie den erstellten öffentlichen WEB-Link kopieren und z. B. per E-Mail verteilen.
