Reset the Fail Counter

  1. Login to the SIM-MFA web portal.

  2. On the overview page of all tokens, just click on the fail counter icon (coloured in green, yellow or red) to the right of the affected token name.

Token PIN

  1. Login to the SIM-MFA web portal.

  2. On the overview page of all tokens, click on the name of the desired token in order to open the token settings page.

  3. Go to the PIN setting fields, which are located almost at the end of the settings area.

  4. Please make sure, that no PIN has been set, i. e. both fields are empty. Click on "Set PIN" in order to perform a reset to an empty PIN.

Please do NOT set a PIN! Otherwise, the login procedure might not work as intended (in particular for PUSH and TOTP tokens)! For example:

  • The login to the LRZ IDM portal does not seperately ask for PIN and OTP. Here, for example in case of TOTP, you need to enter the PIN followed by the OTP without space.
  • The procedures on Linux Cluster and SuperMUC-NG also differ from the default login without PIN:
    Linux Cluster
Token_Response: <-- Here, enter the PIN!!!
please enter otp: <-- Here, enter the OTP of the according TOTP token or apply the according PUSH notification!!!
    SuperMUC-NG
MFA: <-- Here, enter the PIN!!!
please enter otp: <-- Here, enter the OTP of the according TOTP token or apply the according PUSH notification!!!
