The next call for GCS large-scale computing time proposals on SuperMUC-NG, JUWELS and Hazel Hen/Hawk will cover the period November 1, 2019 to October 31, 2020.
The call will open on 8 July 2019 and close on 5 August 2019, 17:00 CEST.

Due to final tests with SuperMUC-NG, we have to shut down the compute nodes of SuperMUC-Phase2 on Thursday June6th and Friday June 7th, 2019. Further tests must carried on the following days. During this interruption the login nodes and the file systems of SuperMUC-Phase2 will still be available.
Because of the delayed start of operation for the new system “SuperMUC-NG”, we have decided to additionally operate the old system “SuperMUC-Phase 2” until the end of 2019. This will provide additional capacity for your jobs. However, full support for the file systems on the old system is only guaranteed until end of November 2019. Please copy your data beforehand to the new system.
After the final tests and some reconfiguration of the new system, we will gradually permit more and more users access to SUPERMUC-NG. You will soon be notified about this.
For the completion of the reliability testing, we still have to perform some of your full machine tests, which we have scheduled from Tuesday, 4th June, 10:00 until the end of the testing period. During that time, no other jobs will run. However, you can still access the login nodes and the file systems.
Please, as a reminder, use that time to save potential important data from SCRATCH, as SCRATCH will be reconfigured and cleaned out after the reliability test phase!
CoolMUC-3 is currently experiencing some serious performance issues with reference to MPI communications. We are aware of the issue and are in the process of diagnosing the cause.
