A highly-parallelized Boundary Integral implementation for blood flow simulations



An accurate computational prediction for the dynamics of synthetic (nano-)particles in human blood flow is highly challenging. Our focus lies on the flow inside small microcapillaries where it is necessary to fully resolve individual red blood cells. This leads to a complex fluid-structure interaction problem where the elastic deformation of the cells is fully coupled with the hydrodynamics of the surrounding blood plasma.
